With questions still surrounding Kansas City’s pass-catching group entering the 2026 season, analysts had naturally wondered whether Brett Veach might explore a bold trade.
The Dallas Cowboys, however, appear to have delivered a clear answer on George Pickens.
Pickens had become an appealing speculative target because of his contract situation in Dallas.
The Cowboys have not rushed into a long-term agreement with the Pro Bowl-caliber wide receiver, which created room for outside speculation.
For a Chiefs team still looking for a reliable lead perimeter playmaker, that uncertainty made Pickens an easy name to connect to Kansas City.
NFL insider Ian Rapoport addressed the situation during a Friday appearance on The Pat McAfee Show.
